The following pre-packaged resource, derived from this base command, is available:
Toggle Density Map
Applied Parameters: None
Summary
This command is used to display a map of the rats-nest connection density.
Access
This command is accessed from the PCB Editor by choosing the Tools » Density Map command, from the main menus.
Use
After launching the command, a map of connection densities will be laid over the design. Areas with low density (few connections) will be green in color. As the density becomes greater (more connection lines tightly packed together) the color will change in steps to reflect this. Thus the green color denotes the most sparse areas, and the red color denotes the most dense areas.
Use the command again to remove the map (not that the command's caption on the menu becomes Clear Density Map).
Tips
- The number of steps in color used by the density map to reflect connection densities, will depend on the graphics card/driver in your computer.
