New in CircuitStudio
CircuitStudio 1.5
Released: 24 May 2018 - Version: 1.5.1 (build 13)
This CircuitStudio release continues to deliver new features as well as enhancements to the software's core technologies. Chief among these improvements for CircuitStudio 1.5 is support for creating 3D PDFs, which gives fabricators
a much better understanding of your design intent. Added a Selection FilterThe new Selection Filter allows you to define what you want selected before you make a selection. This pre-selection filter enables you to accurately select everything you need and nothing you don't. |
Added Functionality for Layer SetsLayer sets allow you to view only specific layers included in those sets. This is useful when only working on specific layers to help reduce clutter in the workspace. |
Support for 3D PDF GenerationCircuitStudio has added the ability to generate 3D PDFs. A 3D PDF gives fabricators and project managers a much better understanding of your design intent. You can allow anyone on your team to view your 3D PDF as part of your output documentation. |
CircuitStudio 1.4
Released: 24 March 2017 - Version: 1.4.0 (build 84)
This new CircuitStudio release continues to deliver new features as well as enhancements to the software's core technologies. Chief among these improvements for CircuitStudio 1.4 is support for direct opening of EAGLE designs and projects to make importing more intuitive.
Import EAGLE Libraries to the Libraries PanelEAGLE Libraries can be imported, generating Integrated Libraries for use in CircuitStudio. These Integrated Libraries are added as installed libraries - part of the Available Libraries list - for access and use through the Libraries panel. |
Added Functionality for Prioritizing Polygons"Bring to Front" and "Send to Back" commands have been added for additional control over the priority of Polygons, allowing you to ensure that overlapping polygons are filled properly. |
Added Support for Polygon ClassesSupport for Polygon Classes has been added to the GUI to enable CircuitStudio to handle polygon-related rules within files imported from Eagle. Classes are a way of gathering design primitives in a logical manner and are often priceless when used to target their member objects through specific design rule scoping. |
Added Net Classes for PCBTo preserve net class information in files imported from Eagle, support has been added for net classes in PCBs. |
Additional New Features and EnhancementsThis most recent update to CircuitStudio includes a number of upgrades, such as support for hierarchical schematics and enhanced printing options for generated output. |
CircuitStudio 1.3
Released: 07 October 2016 - Version: 1.3.0 (build 7)
This new CircuitStudio release continues to deliver new features as well as enhancements to the software's core technologies.
Manufacturing RulesCircuitStudio 1.3 features a number of manufacturing-related design rules to help constrain your board further, and to ensure that what you layout in the software can meet requirements of the fabrication house when physically spinning the board. |
Redesigned Home PageCircuitStudio 1.3 delivers a fresh new Home/Start page that provides a clean, streamlined, and intuitive new-look, along with updates to key pages including the My Account page. |
Support for In-App Purchases and RenewalsCircuitStudio 1.3 brings you the ability to purchase new licenses for your software directly from within the software. Set up a Payment Profile with billing information and at least one defined payment method and you're up and running to buy a license while browsing your account. |
Support for IPC-2581 Fabrication OutputSupport has been added for the IPC-2581 Standard. This is an XML-based single file format that incorporates a rich range of board fabrication data – from layer stackup details to full pad/routing/component information and the Bill Of Materials (BOM). To access this new feature, the IPC2581 extension must be installed (accessed from the Extensions and Updates » Purchased tab of your My Account page). With the extension installed, the IPC-2581 option becomes available with the other outputs under the Outputs | Fabrication section of the ribbon menu. |
Added Ability to Import CircuitMaker PCB FilesWith CircuitStudio 1.3 comes the ability to import PCB documents from CircuitMaker. This feature can be accessed by selecting File » Import. When the file browser opens, make sure the desired file type is set to CircuitMaker PCB Files (*.CMPcbDoc). The selected file is added to the Projects panel. |
