The following pre-packaged resource, derived from this base command, is available:
Remove Duplicates
Applied Parameters: None
Summary
This command is used to remove duplicate components from the current Schematic Library Editor document. This is especially useful when components from one library have been moved into another, and components with the same name arise.
Access
This command can be accessed from the Schematic Library Editor by choosing the Tools » Remove Duplicates command, from the main menus.
Use
After launching the command, a confirmation dialog will appear asking whether you wish to go ahead with the removal of duplicates. After clicking Yes, a text report, LibraryName.rep, is created and opened as the active document. This report lists all of the components that have been removed, by name, and also gives a total.
Tips
- The report is stored in the same location as the library document and is added to the Projects panel as a free document, under the Documentation\Text Documents sub-folder.
- In each case where duplicates exist, the first component in the library document is saved and all other components with the same name are removed.
