Toggle Fitted/Not Fitted (Context Sensitive)
Applied Parameters: ContextSensitive=True
Summary
This command is used to quickly toggle the fitted/not fitted state of the component under the cursor, on the active physical schematic sheet, and for the active Design Variant.
Access
This command is accessed from the Schematic Editor. First ensure that the required variant for the design is chosen, using the Current Variant drop-down field, on the Variants toolbar. With the applicable physical sheet for the circuit made active - the relevant Compiled View tab, and not the Editor tab - right-click over the required placed component and choose the Part Actions » Toggle Fitted/Not Fitted command from the context menu.
Use
After launching the command, the component under the cursor will have its state changed from Fitted to Not Fitted, or vice-versa. When Not Fitted, the component will appear with overlay graphics, as defined in the Variant Options dialog (for example, a red cross).
Tips
- To examine design variations, you must compile the design and then switch to the compiled tab of the schematic. The Current Variant drop-down field, on the Variants toolbar, can then be used to show the configuration of the physical components on that sheet, for a chosen variant.
- Before you can create a variant, you first create the original design, which is referred to as the base design. Working from the base design, you then go through a process of configuring the components to be: Fitted; Fitted with varied parameters; Not Fitted; or to use an Alternate Part. Management of design variants is performed primarily within the Variant Management dialog.
