The Data Management – Component Rule Checks page of the Preferences dialog provides a range of violation types to check for issues with a component and its defined models when committing/releasing the component to your connected Workspace.

The Data Management – Component Rule Checks page is part of the main Preferences dialog that is accessed by clicking the control in the upper-right corner of the design space then selecting the Component Rule Checks entry under the Data Management folder.

Component Rule Checks
- Violation Type Description – displays all violation types in three categories:
Violations Associated with Components
,Violations Associated with Footprints
, andViolations Associated with Symbols
. - Report Mode – displays the current report mode for the associated violation. Click the current mode to access a drop-down from where you can select the desired mode:
No Report
,Warning
,Error
,Fatal Error
. Any of the user-defined checks at a level ofError
or above that fail would prevent the release of a component to the connected Workspace.
