Convert to Managed Project
Summary
The Convert to Managed Project dialog is used to convert a standard, non-managed project, into a Managed Project, which is then stored in a repository connected to your Altium Vault. The advantage of storing your design as a managed project is that you get the benefits of managing the design files under version control, without you needing to engage in the version control process. You can easily access, open, edit and save project documents, in a transparent way - with modifed files being checked in whenever you run the Save Managed Project command.
Access
To access this dialog, right-click on a project in the Projects panel which has not yet been added to version control. Select Convert to Managed Project from the context menu. The command is only available if the installation of Altium Designer is currently signed in to an Altium Vault (DXP » Sign In Altium Vault).
Options/Controls
Click the Simple Mode or Advanced Mode button to toggle the dialog between the following modes:
- Simple - enter the name and a description for the managed project, and click OK to convert it.
- Advanced - as well entering the name and a description for the managed project, this mode includes controls to select and locate the repository, and to configure the working folder location.
The following options become available in Advanced Mode:
