The Component Type dialog

Summary

The Component Type dialog is used to select the type of component.

Access

The dialog is accessed in the following ways:

  • From the CmpLib editor (File » New » Library » Component Library), click  in the Type column under the Component header.
  • From the Component Template Editor, click in the Default Value column of a ComponentType in the Parameters region then click .
  • In the Configure Migration step of the Library Migrator View (View » Library Migrator), click  to the right of Component Type.
This dialog is not accessible when migrating a source PCB Library.

Options/Controls

Select the desired component type from the list then click OK to select.

Right-click Menu

  • Add - use to add a new component type. Enter the new component type in the resulting textbox. The new type will be added to the list in alphabetical order.
  • Add sub-type - use to add a sub-type to the component type currently selected or hovered over. Enter the new component type in the resulting textbox. The new sub-type will be added to the list in alphabetical order.
  • Edit - use the edit the component type that is currently selected or hovered over. Enter the new component type.
  • Delete - use to delete the component type that is currently selected or hovered over. A dialog appears for confirmation before the deletion occurs.
