The following pre-packaged resource, derived from this base command, is available:
Extend Selection to Beginning of Line
Applied Parameters: None
Summary
This command is used to extend a selection to the beginning of the current line, from the current cursor position.
Access
Access to this command is made using the Shift+Home keyboard shortcut only.
Use
Simply position the cursor at the required location in the document and launch the command. The selection will include all characters to the left of the original cursor position, up to the beginning of the line.
Tips
- You can control selection specifically by using Click-and-drag.
- If the Smart 'Home' key option is enabled, on the Text Editors - General page of the Preferences dialog, then using this command for the first time will extend the selection to the first non-space character in the current line. With the next Shift+Home key press, the selection will extend to the beginning of the line, and so on. This Home key behaviour matches that of the Microsoft™ Visual Studio™ product. Disable this option and the Shift+Home key sequence will always extend selection to the beginning of the current line.
