Summary
This command is used to extend a column selection by one line up from the current cursor position.
Access
Access to this command is made using the Alt+Shift+Up Arrow keyboard shortcut only.
Use
Simply select the base character(s) of text at the required position in the document and launch the command. The selection will be extended, in a column whose width is defined by the original character selection, one line up.
Repeatedly use this command to extend the selection in this column upward by further lines.
Tips
- You can control column selection specifically by using Alt+Click-and-Drag.
- Hold Alt+Shift keys down while using different arrow keys, to build a selection block within the document.
- Column selection is disabled if word wrapping is enabled.
