Summary
This command is used to extend a selection column by one column to the left of the current cursor position.
Access
Access to this command is made using the Alt+Shift+Left Arrow keyboard shortcut only.
Use
Simply position the cursor at the required location in the document and launch the command. The selection column will be extended to include the column to the left of the original cursor position.
Using the command repeatedly will extend the selection column by additional columns to the left.
Tips
- You can control column selection specifically by using Alt+Click-and-Drag.
- Hold Alt+Shift keys down while using different arrow keys, to build a selection block within the document.
- If the cursor location is to the right of a currently selected column of text, using this command will effectively deselect the column to the left.
