The following pre-packaged resource, derived from this base command, is available:
Extend Selection Column One Word Left
Applied Parameters: None
Summary
This command is used to extend a column selection by one word to the left of the current cursor position.
Access
Access to this command is made using the Alt+Shift+Ctrl+Left Arrow keyboard shortcut only.
Use
Simply position the cursor at the required location in the document and launch the command. The column selection will include all characters to the left of the original cursor position, up to the beginning of the first word encountered, as defined by an alphanumeric character preceded by a space character.
Using the command repeatedly will extend the selection column by additional words to the left.
Tips
- You can control column selection specifically by using Alt+Click-and-Drag.
- If the cursor location is to the right of a currently selected column of text, using this command will effectively deselect the word to the left.
