Set Origin
Applied Parameters: None
Summary
This command is used to define a location in the workspace as the new (relative) origin, and sets its coordinates to (0,0).
Access
This command can be accessed from the PCB Editor by:
- Choosing the Edit » Origin » Set command, from the main menus.
- Clicking the button on the Utility Tools drop-down () of the Utilities toolbar.
Use
After launching the command, the cursor will change to a crosshair and you will be prompted to select the new relative origin. Position the cursor at the required location in the workspace and click, or press Enter. This point will be set to coordinate (0, 0) and all objects in the workspace will have their locations updated relative to this point.
Tips
- To set the relative origin back to the default absolute origin, at the extreme lower-left of the document workspace, use the Edit » Origin » Reset command, from the main menus.
