Shortcuts for the Altium NEXUS SimData Editor

This documentation page references Altium NEXUS/NEXUS Client (part of the deployed NEXUS solution), which has been discontinued. All your PCB design, data management and collaboration needs can now be delivered by Altium Designer and a connected Altium 365 Workspace. Check out the FAQs page for more information.

The following sections present shortcut keys that are specific to the SimData Editor. For general information regarding shortcut keys - including access and editing, general Altium environment shortcuts, and accelerator keys - see Altium NEXUS Shortcut Keys.

When looking at the shortcut key listings, keep in mind the following:

  • When referring to shortcuts, use of the plus (+) symbol denotes holding multiple keys down on the keyboard in the indicated sequence. For example, Shift+F1 means holding down the Shift key then pressing the F1 key. Likewise, Shift+Ctrl+PgUp means holding down the Shift key then holding down the Ctrl key at the same time and pressing the PgUp key.
  • Where use of the standard mouse buttons is made, Click refers to a single click of the left-hand mouse button, Double-Click refers to two clicks of the left-hand mouse button, and Right-Click refers to a single click of the right-hand mouse button.

Standard Shortcuts

The following shortcuts are standard to the SimData Editor.

General Editing

Click
  • On a wave plot to make it the active plot.
  • On a waveform to select it (click again to deselect).
  • On a chart tab (at the bottom of the waveform analysis window) to make it the active chart.
Right-Click Access context menu for the waveform analysis window or the object under the cursor.
Ctrl+C Copy the selected waveform from its wave plot to the SimData Editor's internal clipboard.
Ctrl+X Clear the selected waveform from its wave plot and copy it to the SimData Editor's internal clipboard.
Ctrl+V Place the current contents of the SimData Editor's internal clipboard into a new or existing wave plot of the current chart.

Working with Charts

+ (on numeric keypad) Make the next available analysis chart the current chart in the waveform analysis window.
- (on numeric keypad) Make the previous available analysis chart the current chart in the waveform analysis window.
Click, Hold&Drag

On a chart tab, to move its position within the presented charts.

Mouse Wheel Scroll vertically within the waveform analysis window. Note that this functionality is available provided there are two or more wave plots in the chart and the Number of Plots Visible field (found in the Document Options dialog) is set to be less than this number. This is a default setting that can be changed from the System - Mouse Wheel Configuration page of the Preferences dialog.
Up Arrow
  • Scroll vertically-upwards through the data in the current chart, one wave plot at a time. Note that this functionality is available provided there are two or more wave plots in the chart and the Number of Plots Visible field (found in the Document Options dialog) is set to be less than this number.
  • If a waveform is currently selected in a plot presenting multiple waveforms, then this shortcut will make the next waveform above, the active waveforem in that plot.
Down Arrow
  • Scroll vertically-downwards through the data in the current chart, one wave plot at a time. Note that this functionality is available provided there are two or more wave plots in the chart and the Number of Plots Visible field (found in the Document Options dialog) is set to be less than this number.
  • If a waveform is currently selected in a plot presenting multiple waveforms, then this shortcut will make the next waveform below, the active waveforem in that plot.
Shift+Up Arrow Scroll vertically-upwards through the data in the current chart, one page at a time. Note that this functionality is available provided there are two or more wave plots in the chart and the Number of Plots Visible field (found in the Document Options dialog) is set to be less than this number.
Shift+Down Arrow Scroll vertically-downwards through the data in the current chart, one page at a time. Note that this functionality is available provided there are two or more wave plots in the chart and the Number of Plots Visible field (found in the Document Options dialog) is set to be less than this number.
Ctrl+Up Arrow
(or Ctrl+Home)
Jump to the top of the current chart. Note that this functionality is available provided there are two or more wave plots in the chart and the Number of Plots Visible field (found in the Document Options dialog) is set to be less than this number.
Ctrl+Down Arrow
(or Ctrl+End)
Jump to the bottom of the current chart. Note that this functionality is available provided there are two or more wave plots in the chart and the Number of Plots Visible field (found in the Document Options dialog) is set to be less than this number.

Working with Wave Plots & Waveforms

Click, Hold&Drag
  • On a waveform to move it to another wave plot within the current chart.
  • On a wave plot to move its position within the current chart.
PgUp
(or Ctrl+Mouse Wheel Up)
Zoom in to the waveform(s), relative to the cursor position, for the wave plot currently under the cursor.
PgDn
(or Ctrl+Mouse Wheel Down)
Zoom out from the waveform(s), relative to the cursor position, for the wave plot currently under the cursor.
Shift+Mouse Wheel Scroll horizontally through the data in the active wave plot of the current chart. Note that this functionality is available provided the wave plot has been zoomed in to some extent. This is a default setting that can be changed from the System - Mouse Wheel Configuration page of the Preferences dialog.
Left Arrow Scroll horizontally-left through the data in the active wave plot of the current chart, one major X-axis division at a time. Note that this functionality is available provided the wave plot has been zoomed in to some extent.
Right Arrow Scroll horizontally-right through the data in the active wave plot of the current chart, one major X-axis division at a time. Note that this functionality is available provided the wave plot has been zoomed in to some extent.
Shift+Left Arrow Scroll horizontally-left through the data in the active wave plot of the current chart, one page at a time. Note that this functionality is available provided the wave plot has been zoomed in to some extent.
Shift+Right Arrow Scroll horizontally-right through the data in the active wave plot of the current chart, one page at a time. Note that this functionality is available provided the wave plot has been zoomed in to some extent.
Ctrl+Left Arrow Jump to the start of the X-axis for the active wave plot of the current chart. Note that this functionality is available provided the wave plot has been zoomed in to some extent.
Ctrl+Right Arrow Jump to the end of the X-axis for the active wave plot of the current chart. Note that this functionality is available provided the wave plot has been zoomed in to some extent.
Ctrl+PgDn Fit all waveforms in their entirety, within all wave plots of the current chart.
Delete If a waveform is currently selected in the active wave plot, it will be removed. If no waveform is selected, all waveforms for that wave plot will be removed.

Miscellaneous

End Refresh the screen, in effect performing a redraw of the active simulation analysis chart to remove any undesired drawing update effects.
Esc Clear any existing filtering being applied in the document.

Pop-up Menu Shortcuts

The following shortcuts give access to specific pop-up menus of commands, directly from within the design space itself. Each of the main menus also have a defined pop-up key for quick access from within the design space, see Accelerator Keys for more information.
