Summary

The Create Project Copy dialog is used to copy a managed project, which is then stored in a repository connected to a server. By default, the original project name will be used with the suffix ' - Copy'.

No special permissions are required to clone a project. The cloned project is an exact copy of the original managed project and has the same editing properties with no restrictions, i.e. you cannot create a 'read-only' project.

Access

The dialog is accessed in the following ways:

  • Right-click on a managed project in the Projects panel then select Clone from the context menu.
  • From the Explorer panel, select a project within the Projects folder then click the  button to access the Clone command.
  • From the Open Project dialog, select the Open Project As Copy link from the Project Information region located in the Server and Workspace tabs.
The project must be a managed one, that is, currently stored within a repository of a managed content server. Also, to have the command appear on the context menu, you must be actively signed into that server.
The copied project will be made in the same design repository as the original – you cannot change this as part of the copying process.
