The Differential Pair dialog
The Differential Pair dialog

Summary

The Differential Pair dialog allows you to define differential pairs for PCB tracks.

Access

The dialog is accessed from the PCB panel in Differential Pairs Editor mode by double-clicking on an existing differential pair or by clicking Add or Edit.

Options/Controls

  • Positive Net - displays the positive (+) net in the current differential pair. Differential pairs use a naming convention that requires the relevant nets to use a common prefix, followed by a consistent positive/negative suffix, e.g., TX0_P and TX0_N. Click the down arrow to view and select a net. Click in the field to edit the net name and add your positive suffix.
  • Negative Net - displays the negative (-) net in the current differential pair. Differential pairs use a naming convention that requires the relevant nets use a common prefix, followed by a consistent positive/negative suffix, e.g., TX0_P and TX0_N. Click the down arrow to view and select a net. Click in the field to edit the net name and add your negative suffix.
  • Name - displays the current name for this differential pair. Edit this field to create or modify the name.
