Access
This command is accessed from the PcbDrawing Editor by choosing the File » Import from DXF command, from the main menus.
Use
First, ensure that the Draftsman document (*.PCBDwf) that you wish to import the content of the DXF file into, is open as the active document in the main design window. If you want to import into a specific sheet within a multi-sheet document, also ensure that that sheet is the current sheet. This is done by clicking within the sheet - verify you have the right sheet, by using the information in the Status Bar.
After launching the command, a standard Open dialog will appear. Use this to browse to, and open, the required DXF file. After a short time, the DXF Import Settings dialog will appear. Use this to set the measurement units, default line width, and default font family as required and click OK - the import will proceed, with progress reflected in a subsequent dialog.
Tips
- The following object types are supported for import from a DXF file: Line, Rectangle, Text, Circle.
