Summary
This dialog provides controls to specify the properties of a Net Label object. As well as providing a human-friendly identifier for a net, a net label allows you to connect points on a circuit without actually physically wiring them together.
Access
The Net Label dialog can be accessed during placement by pressing the Tab key.
After placement, the dialog can be accessed in one of the following ways:
- Double-click on the placed net label object.
- Place the cursor over the net label object, right-click then choose Properties from the context menu.
Options/Controls
- Color - click the color sample to change the color used for the label's text using the standard Choose Color dialog.
- Location X/Y - the current X (horizontal) and Y (vertical) coordinates for the connection point of the net label (its electrical hotspot). Edit these values to change the position of the net label in the horizontal and/or vertical planes respectively.
- Orientation - specify the orientation of the net label counterclockwise in relation to the horizontal. Options available are: 0 degrees, 90 degrees, 180 degrees, 270 degrees.
Properties
- Net - this field shows the name of the net associated with the net label. Placing a net label onto an electrical object assigns that object to the net specified here. Either enter the name of the required net directly or use the field's associated drop-down to access a list of all currently defined names from all other net labels and ports defined on the active schematic sheet.
- Font - this control serves two purposes. First, it reflects the currently chosen font – applied to the text for the associated net name - in terms of Font Name, Font Size and Font Style. Second, when clicked it provides access to the standard Font dialog in which you can change the font as required.
- Locked - enable this option to protect the net label from being edited graphically.
