Summary
This dialog provides controls to configure a mechanical layer pair for the board in terms of first and second layers. Paired mechanical layers are used when extra detail is needed in the component footprint, and that detail needs to change to another layer when the component is moved from the top side of the board to the bottom side. An example of this is glue dot information.
Access
The dialog is accessed from the PCB Editor or PCB Library Editor through the Mechanical Layer Pairs dialog in the following ways:
- Click the Add button.
- Select a currently defined mechanical layer pair then click the Mechanical Pair Properties button.
Options/Controls
- Mechanical Layer Pair - the following fields collectively define the mechanical layer pair:
- Layer 1 - the first layer in the pair. Choose from any of the currently defined and enabled mechanical layers for the board.
- Layer 2 - the second layer in the pair. Choose from any of the currently defined and enabled mechanical layers for the board.
