The following pre-packaged resource, derived from this base command, is available:
Toggle Electrical Grid
Applied Parameters: None
Summary
This command is used to turn the cursor electrical grid on or off.
Access
This command can be accessed from the Schematic Editor by:
- Choosing the View » Grids » Toggle Electrical Grid command, from the main menus.
- Choosing the Toggle Electrical Grid command, on the Grids drop-down () of the Utilities toolbar.
- Using the Shift+E keyboard shortcut.
Use
The electrical grid is a special grid designed to assist you in wiring up your schematic. The electrical grid defines a range around electrical objects within which the cursor is "captured" by the object, overriding the current snap grid.
Wires, part pins, etc, are all affected by the electrical grid. With the electrical grid turned on, as you wire up your schematic, the cursor will automatically "find" electrical hot spots, making it easier to connect to electrical objects.
Launch the command to toggle the electrical grid status on or off.
Tips
-
The electrical grid for the currently active schematic sheet can also be enabled/disabled when configuring Document Options through the Properties panel (when no objects are selected in the workspace). Simply enable/disable the Snap option (in the General section of the panel).
