Applied Parameters: Physical=True|EmptyAction=Hide
Summary
This command is used to access the Variant Management dialog, with just the chosen component presented. This allows you to focus on making variations to just that component, without having to scroll up and down through the otherwise fully-populated dialog.
Access
This command is accessed in the Schematic Editor, from the applicable Compiled View tab (physical view of the design), by clicking the button on the Active Bar.
Use
After launching the command, the cursor will change to a cross-hair, and you will be prompted to choose a component. Simply click on the component required. The Variant Management dialog will open, displaying only that chosen component. Perform the required variations and click OK to apply them to the design.
Continue editing further components, or right-click, or press Esc to exit.
Tips
- When accessed from a Compiled View tab, the Variant Management dialog will present only the currenly active variant, as chosen under the Variants folder for the project, in the Projects panel. If [No Variations] is selected (i.e. the base design), then all variants will be presented in the dialog.
- For more conceptual information about variants, see Design Variants.
