The following pre-packaged resource, derived from this base command, is available:
Generate Component Report
Applied Parameters: None
Summary
This command is used to generate a report listing information about the active component in the current document.
Access
This command is accessed from the Schematic Library Editor by choosing the Reports » Component command from the main menus.
Use
After launching the command, a text file is generated (<LibraryName>.cmp) and opened as the active document. The file includes the component name and the number of parts contained in the component. For each part, the pin details are given for each of the graphical representations (Normal and any Alternates).
Tips
- The first part in the list is part zero. This part is usually used for multi-part components as a method of declaring the power pins for all individual parts in a single place. Part zero cannot be seen graphically in the Schematic Library Editor, but rather pins are assigned to it in the Component Pin Editor dialog. The dialog is accessed by clicking the on the Pins tab of the Properties panel (which presents properties for the active component).
- The report is generated in the same location as the library document. If the source library is part of a project, the report is added to the Projects panel under the Generated\Text Documents sub-folder. If the source library is open as a free document, the report is added to the Projects panel under the Free Documents\Documentation\Text Documents sub-folder.
