The page in the Harness Design category of the Preferences dialog provides access to preferences relating to features and functionality of Harness Design.

The Harness Design – General page of the Preferences dialog is used to configure options of newly created wiring diagram (*.WirDoc
) and layout drawing (*.LdrDoc
) documents.

Length Units
Select the default length units (mm, cm, m, in, or ft) that will be applied to a newly created wiring diagram or layout drawing. Length units can also be specified at the local document level using the Length Units drop-down in the Properties panel when no object is selected in the document.
Default Blank Sheet Size

Sheet Size – use the drop-down to select the default blank sheet size that will be applied to a newly created wiring diagram or layout drawing. Sheet size can also be specified at the local document level using the Page Options settings of the Properties panel when no object is selected in the document.

Drawing Area – reflects the dimensions of the sheet size chosen in the Sheet Size field. This field is not editable.

Default Primitives

Primitives – use this field to change the units.

Primitive List – a list of primitives that can be used in the harness design editor (filtered in accordance with the chosen entry for the Primitives field above). Click on the listed Primitives to change the available default values as described.
