Summary

This command is used to update all placed instances of the active library 2D/3D component model in the active PCB Library document in all open PCB documents (regardless to which project they belong).

Access

This command is accessed from the PCB Library Editor by choosing the Tools » Update PCB With Current Footprint command from the main menus.

Use

First, ensure that the component whose changes you wish to pass to the PCB document(s), is selected in the Components list on the PCB Library panel (and is therefore the active component in the main design window).

After launching the command, the Component(s) Update Options dialog will open. Use this dialog to determine which aspects of the component are to be updated. After clicking OK, all placed instances of this component on all open PCB documents will be updated with any changes made in accordance with specified update options.

Tips

1. This feature can also be accessed from the PCB Library panel. Right-click within the Components region then choose the Update PCB With <FocusedComponentName> command from the context menu.

Summary

This command is used to update all placed instances of all 2D/3D component models - in the active PCB LIbrary document - in all open PCB documents (irrespective of the project they belong to).
