The following pre-packaged resource, derived from this base command, is available:
Find Next
Applied Parameters: None
Summary
This command is used to find the next occurrence of the last text search that was specified using the Find Text dialog.
Access
This command can be accessed from the Schematic Editor and the Schematic Library Editor by:
- Choosing the Edit » Find Next command from the main menus.
- Using the F3 keyboard shortcut.
Use
Use of this command depends on how the Find Text feature has been used:
- If a text search has been conducted, with the Jump to Results option enabled in the Find Text dialog, then the Find Text - Jump dialog will already be displayed. Use of the Find Next command can only be performed through its shortcut. As you do so, the next occurrence of the text specified in the Text To Find field of the Find Text dialog will be located and centered in the design window. The Item count in the Find Text - Jump dialog will increment accordingly. Use the command repeatedly to cycle forward through all occurrences.
- If a text search has been conducted, with the Jump to Results option disabled in the Find Text dialog, then use of the Find Next command (through menu or shortcut access) will cause the Find Text - Jump dialog to be displayed. As you do so, the first occurrence of the text specified in the Text To Find field of the Find Text dialog will be located and centered in the design window. Use the command repeatedly - through its shortcut only - to cycle forward through all occurrences. The Item count in the Find Text - Jump dialog will increment accordingly.
Tips
- This feature applies all search criteria options that were specified when performing the original text search, in the Find Text dialog.
- Search results can be cycled back and forth directly using the Find Text - Jump dialog, by using the Previous and Next buttons, respectively.
- The full list of results can also be browsed through the Messages panel, complete with ability to cross-probe to an instance of the searched text, directly in the workspace (double-click a message entry, or right-click and choose Cross Probe from the context menu).
