This documentation page references Altium NEXUS/NEXUS Client (part of the deployed NEXUS solution), which has been discontinued. All your PCB design, data management and collaboration needs can now be delivered by Altium Designer and a connected Altium 365 Workspace. Check out the FAQs page for more information.
The Jump To String dialog
Summary
This dialog allows you to quickly jump to a specific text string within the design workspace by specifying the text.
If the target string is already displayed within the main design window, the cursor will simply jump to anchor point of the string - the point by which it is held during a move operation, or rotated around. If the string is out of view, the cursor will be positioned at the anchor point of the string, centered within the main design window (where possible).
Access
The dialog can be accessed from the PCB Editor by using the Edit » Jump » String command from the main menus.
You can also use the J, S keyboard sequence directly from within the focused workspace.
Options/Controls
- String - use this field to specify the text string to which you want to jump. The string must be entered in its entirety. Alternatively, enter ? then click OK. The Strings dialog will appear, listing all text strings found within the active board document (free and children of other group objects). Use this dialog to quickly locate the string to which you want to jump.
