Layer Drawing Order

The Layer Drawing Order dialog.
Summary
This dialog allows allows the designer to set the order in which layers are redrawn on the screen.
Access
The dialog is accessed from the PCB Editor, or PCB Library Editor, in the following ways:
- Clicking the Layer Drawing Order button, on the PCB Editor - Display page of the Preferences dialog.
- Right-clicking on a layer tab and choosing Layer Drawing Order from the context menu.
Options/Controls
- Drawing Order List - presents the current order in which layers will be redrawn. The order that the layers appear in the list is the order in which they will be redrawn, with the layer at the top of the list drawn on top of all other layers on the screen.
- Promote - click this button to promote the currently selected layer in the list, moving it up in the layer drawing order (where applicable). Click repeatedly to promote further.
- Demote - click this button to demote the currently selected layer in the list, moving it down in the layer drawing order (where applicable). Click repeatedly to demote further.
- Default - click this button to reset the layer drawing order to its default.
