Altium Designer 20.0 includes several improvements to importers. These additions and enhancements create more efficient and inclusive importing.
Allegro Importer
- During import of Allegro Design Files, the new Optimize clearance rules option on the Default PCB Specific Options page allows you to use optimization for the clearance rules (when enabled)
- Added the ability to map layers when importing Allegro designs.
Rigid-flex support
EAGLE Importer
- Added the ability to remap\remove PCB layers when importing EAGLE designs.
- The Reporting Options page has been renamed Output Projects and includes the same options as in previous versions.

Same Net Clearance
Mentor Expedition Importer
- Object Specific Keepouts have been added to the Mentor Expedition importer. The importer now translates Mentor Expedition keepouts to similar types in Altium Designer (tracks, vias, etc.).
- Added the ability to remap\remove PCB layers when importing Mentor Expedition designs.
OrCAD Importer
- An option has been added to the OrCAD Designs and Libraries Files importer that allows you to choose to use Altium Ports for sheet-to-sheet connectivity rather than the default off-sheet connectors. The new option (highlighted in the image below) is on the fourth page of the Wizard.
Normally, flat OrCAD designs import using off-sheet connectors. The Convert Orcad Off-Page connectors as Altium Ports (instead of defaults Off-sheet connectors) option eliminates the manual process needed to convert off-page connectors to ports. This option also is useful when converting a flat design to a hierarchical design when ports are required.
- An option has been added to the OrCAD importer to treat all properties as occurrence properties.
PADS Importer
- Added a new feature that includes additional stages for the import process, allowing for the remapping or removal of PCB layers during the import.
