The following pre-packaged resource, derived from this base command, is available:
Run DRC Rules Check
Applied Parameters: None
Summary
This command allows you to view constraint rule violations within the Rules Editor itself. Design Rule Checking (DRC) is a powerful automated feature that checks both the logical and physical integrity of a design. Checks are made against any or all enabled design rules and can be made online during design, or as a batch process (with an optional report). Enabled design constraint rules are applied to the current board design through a range of mechanisms, such as live Online Design Rule Checking, the batch Design Rule Checker, or selectively run from the PCB Rules and Violations panel.
Access
This command can be accessed from the Rules Editor by choosing Tools » Run DRC Rules Check from the main menus.
Use
After running the command, the Design Rule Checking (DRC) will begin. If some rules have not been saved, they will be skipped by the DRC. In this case, the Confirm dialog will appear prompting you to decide whether or not you want to continue.
Violations of those constraint rules, where the specified and scoped limits are exceeded, will automaticallly be indicated in the last column of the individual rule that is in violation, denoted by the icon, once the DRC is complete. The total number of violations is shown in the top-right of the editor next to the icon.
