Summary

The Select Columns dialog allows you to select which columns to display in an ActiveBom.

Columns can also be added and removed in the ActiveBOM Properties panel, and the order they appear in the BomDoc can be changed by clicking and dragging on the column title with the mouse.

Access

In an ActiveBom document (*.BomDoc), right-click on a column title in the upper right grid region then choose Select Columns.

Options/Controls

  • Search - type characters in the field to filter the list of columns, showing only those columns whose name includes the typed characters.
  • Visibility column - this is used to control if an ActiveBOM column is visible in the ActiveBOM document (*.BomDoc). Click the eye icon to toggle a column between being visible and not visible. Visible columns are always listed at the top of the dialog in the order they appear in the BomDoc.
  • Data Source column - displays the data source of the column. Supported data sources include:
    •  - items added directly into the BOM
    •  - schematic component parameters
    •  - server component parameters
    •  - Linked Database parameters (DbLink, DbLib)
    •  - Schematic Document parameters
    •  - Altium Cloud Services
  • Column Name - displays the name of the data source, which displays as the column name in the BomDoc.
  • Up / Down - use to move the currently selected column ip or down the list. The result is that column will move left or right in the BomDoc when OK is clicked. Note that only visible columns can have their position in the order changed.
  •  - click the Filter symbol next to each heading to filter the information in the grid by the chosen list item.
