PCB_Dlg-Form_BoardLayerSetsDlgLayer Sets Manager_AD
Summary
The Layer Sets Manager dialog allows designers to create, edit, and remove layer sets. Using layer sets allows designers to view only specific layers included in these sets. This is useful when only working on specific layers to help reduce clutter in the workspace.
Access
To access this dialog from the PCB Editor:
- Click the in the lower left of the main window and select Board Layer Sets from the pop-up menu, or
- Select Design » Manage Layer Sets » Board Layer Sets.
To access this dialog from the PCB Library Editor:
- Click the in the lower left of the main window and select Board Layer Sets from the pop-up menu, or
- Select Tools » Manage Layer Sets » Board Layer Sets.
Options/Controls
Layer Sets
This region shows existing Layer Sets and given information about the sets.
- Columns:
- Name - Displays the name of the Layer Set. An accelerator key can be nominated by placing the & character before the desired key. This allows you to quickly apply a layer set through the D, T, <AcceleratorKey> keyboard sequence.
- Active Layer - Displays which layer is the active layer in the set.
- View From Bottom Side - Enable this option to view the layer set from the bottom side.
- New Set - Click to create a new set. You can create an empty set by clicking Make Empty or create a new set by clicking From Currently Visible Layers.
- Remove Set - Click to remove a selected, existing set.
- Switch To - Switch to the selected set in the PCB Editor.
Layers
This region is used to add Layers to an existing set. Information will be shown for whichever set is selected in the Layer Sets region of the dialog.
- Columns:
- Name - Displays the name of the Layer.
- Type - Displays the Layer Type.
- Include In Set - Enable this this box to include the layer in the selected Layer Set.
- Include Selected - When creating a new set, click this button to include any selected Layers from the Layer Set.
- Exclude Selected - When creating a new set, click this button to exclude any selected Layers from the Layer Set.
Additional Controls
- Export Layer Sets To File - Save and export all user-defined Layer Sets. The file is saved as a
*.layerset
). Default Layer Sets are not exported. - Import Layer Sets From File - Load a previously saved Layer Set file (
*.layerset
). - Show/Hide Default Layer Sets - Enable this option to show default Layer Sets. Default layers will be hidden when the option is disabled.
