The following pre-packaged resources, derived from this base command, are available:
Set Component Reference to Pin 1
Applied Parameters: Location=Pin1
Summary
This command is used to set the component reference point to be pin 1 of the component footprint.
Access
This command is accessed from the PCB Library Editor by choosing the Edit » Set Reference » Pin 1 command from the main menus.
Use
First, ensure that the component that you wish to set the reference for is selected in the Components list in the PCB Library panel (and is therefore the active component in the main design window).
After launching the command, the reference point will be set to pin 1 of the footprint and this point will be set to 0,0 - it becomes the new relative origin and all primitives will have their locations updated relative to this point.
Tips
- This reference point is actually the relative origin for the workspace and is the point by which the component footprint is picked up by the cursor in Place and Move operations.
