Configuring Draftsman Drill Table Object Properties in Altium NEXUS

Draftsman object properties are definable options that specify the visual style, content and behavior of the placed object. The property settings for each type of object are defined in two different ways:

• Pre-placement settings – most Drill Table object properties, or those that can logically be pre-defined, are available as editable default settings on the Draftsman - Defaults page of the Preferences dialog (access from the  button at the top-right of the design space). Select the object in the Primitive List to reveal its options on the right.
• Post-placement settings – all Drill Table object properties are available for editing in the Properties panel when a placed Drill Table is selected in the design space.

Title

• Title – the title name string that will be displayed (if enabled) with the Drill Table object. Use the associated button to toggle its visibility. Enter the title name and any desired system/custom parameters to create a meaningful name for the placed view. See the Parameters section in the panel's Document Options mode for a list of the currently available parameters.
• Location – select the drop-down to choose from a range of relative locations for the title. The Manual option is automatically selected if the title is manually moved (dragged and dropped to a new location).
• Font – sets the displayed font used for the view's title string.
  • Use Document Font checkbox selected – the title font used is that defined by the document options. See the Document Font entry in General section of the Properties panel when in Document Options mode.
  • Use Document Font not selected – use the drop-down menus to choose the desired font type and size, and select the lower buttons to enable text attributes. The associated color button () opens the color selector where the font color can be specified by RGB or HEX value, by freeform selection, or from a range of presets. Note that the slider control sets the color Opacity level, where 0% represents full transparency.

Properties

• Layer Pairs (Properties panel only) – select which PCB drill Layer Pair holes will be displayed in the drawing view. Use the drop-down menu to choose from the Layer Pairs that available in the source board design, as can be viewed and edited in the PCB Editor's Drill-Pair Manager dialog, which can be accessed from the Layer Stack Manager dialog. All board designs will have a Top Layer to Bottom Layer pair, while other pairs will represent Via holes passing between or to other layers, such as internal/plane layers.
• Pads / Vias – use the drop-down to select which type of drill hole (Pads, Vias or both) will be shown in the table.
• Plated / Non-Plated – use the drop-down to select the hole plating type (plated, non-plated) that will be shown in the table.
• Border Line Style – the thickness and style of the Drill Table's border/outline. Use the line weight drop-down menu to choose from a range of line thickness presets, and the line pattern menu to choose from a range of line styles. The associated color button () opens the line color selector where the font color can be specified by RGB or HEX value, by freeform selection, or from a range of presets. Note that the slider control sets the color Opacity level, where 0% represents full transparency.
• Even Row Color – select the contrasting color for even rows in the table.
• Non-Even Row Color – select the contrasting color for odd rows in the table.
• Font – sets the displayed font used for the table's title string.
  • Use Document Font checkbox selected – the title font used is that defined by the document options. See the Document Font entry in General section of the Properties panel when in Document Options mode.
  • Use Document Font not selected – use the drop-down menus to choose the desired font type and size, and select the lower buttons enable text attributes.   • Show Footer – check to enable the table footer, which shows the total number of drill holes.
• Drill Symbols button (Properties panel only) – select to open the Drill Symbol Configurations dialog, which provides a tabular view of all drill hole data and allows the setting of the style and size for each hole symbol.

Units

• Primary Units – select the main dimension unit type that will be shown in the table. Use the associated button to toggle the unit's visibility.
• Dual Units – set the secondary dimension unit type that will be shown in the table. Use the associated button to toggle the unit's visibility.

Precision

Specifies the numerical precision (number of significant digits to the right of the decimal point, with the last digit rounded) for the table's hole size units.

• Primary Units – use the drop-down menus to choose the numerical rounding for the Primary (main) hole size table entries.
• Dual Units – use the drop down-menus to choose the numerical rounding for the Dual (secondary) hole size entries (if enabled).

Columns

• Caption – the column header text. Select to edit the caption.
• Align – the column text alignment. Click to toggle through the Left, Center and Right alignment options.
• Width – the width of the column in relation to the text it contains. The Auto option dynamically varies the width to suit the widest column cell text.
• Order – click the order button () to cycle between table column data sort order options (off, ascending, and descending). Sorting can be applied to multiple columns on a priority basis, where ordered columns to the left in the table have the higher priority.
• Add button– use the menu options to enable a new parameter column for addition to the table. The button will disable the currently selected column.
• Up/Down buttons – click to move the selected column up or down one level in both the sort order priority and the table list position (towards the left or right).
