Strohm und Söhne e.V.
Nuremberg Institute of Technology
We are the Formula Student Team of the Nuremberg Institute of Technology Georg Simon Ohm. Our racing team was founded in 2011 and the first electrically powered car, NoRa1, took to the racetrack just two years later. We are often asked what our name is all about. ‘Strohm’ is a play on words combining electricity (german 'Strom'), which is also used to power all our racing cars, and the name of our university, Georg Simon Ohm. ‘Söhne’ ('Sons') is intended to show that it is important for us to constantly pass on our knowledge and experience to future generations. The team has built ten electric racing cars to date and will complete the next vehicle in the FSE club's history for the 2025 season with students from various disciplines.
