After placement, the dialog can be accessed in the following ways:

  • Double-clicking on the placed object.

  • Location Y2 - Specify the Y coordinate for the ending point of the text frame.
  • Draw Solid - Enable this option to fill the text frame with the color selected in the Fill Color field. If this option is disabled, the text frame is drawn in outline only.
  • Fill Color - Click the color sample to open the standard Choose Color dialog and select a color to fill the text frame. You must have the Draw Solid option enabled for the text frame to be filled.
  • Show Border - Enable this option to show the text frame border.
  • Border Color - Click the color sample to open the standard Choose Color dialog and select a color for the border.
  • Text Margin - the amount of space (padding) between the text and the note border. The value specified applies equally to Left, Top, Right and Bottom margins for the note.

Properties

  • Text - Click the Change button to specify the text displayed in the text frame.
  • Font - Click the font name hyperlink to choose a different font for the text.
  • Word Wrap - Enable this option to have text contained within the text frame area automatically wrap to fit the width of the text frame.
  • Clip to Area - Enable this option to have text only appear within the area of the text frame. If the text is too long to fit entirely within the text frame, then the complete contents of the text box will not be shown. The text will be clipped so that it fits neatly within the text frame area. If this option is disabled, all text contained in the text frame will be displayed. If the text is too long to fit within the text frame, then the text will "spill" out of the text frame area.
  • Locked - If this option is checked, the object is protected from being edited graphically. Lock a text frame whose position or size is critical. If you try to edit a design object that is locked, you will be informed that this object is locked and asked if you wish to proceed with the action. If this option is unchecked, the design object can be freely edited without confirmation.

If the Protect Locked Objects option is enabled in the Schematic - Graphical Editing page of the Preferences dialog and the Locked option for this design object is enabled as well, then this object cannot be edited
