Addressing the CoDesigner push error "Cannot add new revision for deleted item" and "Unable to find a model...". Providing solutions to resolve these issues by managing items in the trash.

Solution Details

Step 1: Identify the Error

  • The error message "Cannot add new revision for deleted item" indicates that the model in a revision has been deleted but still exists in the "trash". However, the revision itself has not been deleted.

Step 2: Manage Items in Trash

  1. Access the Web UI:

  • Open your web browser and navigate to the Altium 365 platform.
  • Log in with your credentials

  1. Navigate to the Trash:

  • In the Web UI, locate the sidebar on the left.
  • Click on the Trash icon to view items that have been deleted but are not permanently removed.

  1. Remove or Restore Items:
    • To Restore an Item:
      1. Find the item you need to restore.
      2. Click on the Restore button next to the item.
      3. Confirm the restoration if prompted.
    • To Permanently Delete an Item:
      1. Locate the item you wish to delete permanently.
      2. Click on the Delete button next to the item.
      3. Confirm the permanent deletion if prompted.
    • Permissions:
      • For Projects: Only the owner or an administrator can (soft) delete or restore items.
      • For Other Items: You can perform these actions if you have editing rights.
      • Permanent Deletion: Only Workspace Administrators can perform a complete 'hard' deletion.

Step 3: Push the Design Again

  • After managing the trash items, try pushing the design again.

Step 4: Create a Support Ticket if Needed

  • If the issue persists, create a support ticket and attach the CoDesigner logs.
    • CoDesigner logs can be found at:
      C:\Users\{Username}\AppData\Local\Altium\Altium CoDesigner
