Summary

The Share with a Mechanical Engineer dialog is used to invite a user to collaborate on a managed projected that is available on an Altium Designer Workspace. The user will recieve the invitation through the email address provided. Once the invitation is accepted, the invited user will be granted collaborative access, and will hold the Mechanical Engineering user role within that Workspace.

Access

This dialog is accessed by opening the MCAD CoDesigner panel from a PCB document, selecting the Push and Share button from within the panel, then selecting Post.

The dialog can only be accessed if the managed project resides within an Altium Designer Workspace.

Options/Controls

  • Email Address - enter the email of the user you would like to grant collaborative access to.
  • Add a Note (Optional)  - use this field to add an optional note to the user you would like to grant collaborative access to. The note will be dispalyed in the invitational email they recieve.
  • Share - select this button to invite a user to collaborate on a managed projected. When sent succesfully, a dialog stating "Invitation was sent successfully!" will appear.
Once a user accepts the invitation, they will be found under the Users tab of your Altium Designer Workspace. Click on their name to see their defined user role(s).
