The Export Baseline dialog.
The Export Baseline dialog.

Summary

The Export Baseline dialog is used to create an IDX file (MCAD Baseline.idx). This filetype is used in collaboration between ECAD and MCAD domains. Altium Designer facilitates this collaboration using the Mechanical CAD Collaboration extension (can be found on the Purchased tab of the Extensions & Updates view (DXP » Extensions and Updates)) extension, which is necessary to access this dialog.

For more information, see IDX Support.

Access

Once the Mechanical CAD Collaboration extension has been installed (and Altium Designer subsequently restarted), click the PCB button at the bottom-right of the workspace while in the PCB Editor. Select Mechanical CAD Collaboration from the pop-up menu and then click the Export Baseline button in the panel to open this dialog.

Options/Controls

Select the boxes next to options you want exported into the file. Options which are not selected will not be included in the exported file.

Exporting copper makes the IDX files much bigger and slower to process on the MCAD side. In addition, the IDX technology does not support change detection for copper objects.
