Parent page: Schematic Commands
The following pre-packaged resource, derived from this base command, is available:
Model Manager
Applied Parameters: None
Summary
This command is used to review and manage all models associated with all components in the active schematic library.
Access
This command can be accessed from the Schematic Library Editor by:
- Choosing the Tools » Model Manager command from the main menus.
- Clicking the button on the Utilities toolbar.
Use
After launching the command, the Model Manager dialog will open. The dialog lists all components in the active schematic library. Use this dialog to manage the model links for components as required - these are links to representations of the component in other design domains (Footprint, Simulation, Ibis Model, Signal Integrity).
Multiple components can be selected (using standard Ctrl+click, Shift+click, and click&drag selection techniques), and then the model assignments modified for all simultaneously - by adding, editing, or removing the same model.
Tips
- Model management in this way is meaningful only when using schematic libraries of components as part of a component management methodology that utilizes standalone SchLibs and PcbLibs, or Integrated Libraries. Management of model links is different for methodologies that employ Database Libraries, or Managed Components (Unified Components).
